Xochitl Santos IDed as victim in crash near Corder, Springhill
HOUSTON, TX – A 43-year-old woman died two days before Christmas when a vehicle struck her on the south side of Houston, reports abc 7 Houston.
Around 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian accident on Corder Street near Springhill Street, which is just south of Zollie Scales Park.
Police say the victim was standing in her driveway on Corder Street when the driver of a speeding Chevy Cobalt failed to lost control of his vehicle and hit her. The driver of the Cobalt was allegedly chasing his girlfriend in a Toyota sedan when the crash occurred.
The pedestrian, identified as Xochitl Santos, died at the scene.
Authorities arrested the driver of the Cobalt, though specific charges have not yet been announced.
A full investigation is underway.
