Andrea Wright killed in wrong-way crash on TX-349 in Upton Co.
UPTON CO., TX – An Arkansas woman sustained fatal injuries in a head-on collision that happened on New Year’s Eve in Upton County, reports NewsWest 9.
The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on TX-349 near mile marker 372, which is south of Midland and Odessa.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Nissan entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head on with a northbound Ford F-250.
The wrong-way driver, later identified as 21-year-old Andrea Leeann Wright, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
