2-car crash on College Dr in Lufkin claims Demarcus Hadnot
LUFKIN, TX – A man died, and a woman sustained injuries Saturday morning in a major crash in northwest Angelina County.
According to CBS 19, the accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on College Drive between South First Street and Crown Colony Drive in south Lufkin, which is about two hours northeast of Houston.
Police say that a westbound Kia collided with a Mercedes near the entrance to Texas Bible College.
The driver of the Kia, identified as 26-year-old Demarcus Hadnot, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision. Hadnot’s dog also died in the crash.
Medics airlifted a 24-year-old passenger from the Kia to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The 65-year-old driver of the Mercedes also sustained injuries in the accident; it’s unclear if he required hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
