SUV, motorcycle collision in SW Lubbock claims Armando Garcia

LUBBOCK, TX – A 61-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in southwest Lubbock.

According to everything Lubbock, the accident happened shortly before 7:15 p.m. at 53rd Street and Indiana Avenue in the Caprock area.

Police say that a southbound SUV collided with a motorcycle in the intersection when the driver of the SUV initiated a left turn onto 53rd Street.

The motorcyclist, since identified as Armando Garcia, died after transport to an area hospital.

No other injuries have been reported, and it’s unclear if anyone will face charges in connection to the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
