Jazmine Arce, 5, killed in crash on Margarita Ln in Rio Bravo
RIO BRAVO, TX – A child died, and her grandmother sustained injuries Saturday in an ejection crash in southwest Webb County, reports KGNS.
Shortly after midnight, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident along Margarita Lane in Rio Bravo, about 14 miles south of Laredo.
Police say that a speeding driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked SUV. The impact of the crash threw the two occupants of the SUV from the vehicle.
A five-year-old girl from the SUV, identified as Jazmine Nicole Arce, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported Arce’s grandmother, Felipa Rodriguez, to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The speeding driver, identified as 28-year-old Cesar Armando Ramirez, faces charges that include involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A full investigation is underway.
