Man, 68, loses life to pedestrian-vehicle crash in Arlington
ARLINGTON, TX – A 68-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash south of UT Arlington on Tuesday, WFAA reports.
Arlington Police said the incident unfolded around 9 p.m.The 68-year-old man was struck by a 2015 Toyota Avalon when he tried to walk cross the intersection of South Cooper Street and Lovers Lane outside the marked crosswalk.
EMS crews rushed the male pedestrian to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released his identity at this time.
The driver, who stayed at the scene, told police he was traveling north and did not see the male pedestrian prior to the collision.
Police confirmed the pedestrian did not wear reflective clothing and said the driver is not expected to face any charges for his involvement in the collision.
