3 sent to hospital after crash involving big rig in Garland

GARLAND, TX – Three people were sent to a hospital after a crash involving a big rig in Garland on Monday, NBCDFW said.

Garland police said the big rig and sedan collided on westbound Interstate 30 near Dalrock Road.

The truck crashed into a concrete barrier, causing cargo to fall from it. The load then struck an eastbound vehicle.

Police said the impact of the crash left three people with unspecified injuries, saying they were taken to the emergency room.

Police confirmed there were four occupants inside the eastbound vehicle, which included two children.

Police did not specify whether the two children were among the three taken to the hospital, nor did they confirm if the sedan and truck drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Officials closed the area for several hours before lifting all lane closures.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
