Several injured in pin-in collision in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX – Several people were injured in a pin-in collision involving a truck that took place on U.S. 287 on Monday, Fox4News reports.

Police said this was a multi-vehicle collision that included a truck and car. The events leading up to the crash are unclear. However, based on what we know so far, it appears a car became pinned between the truck and concrete barrier.

Wise County EMS, who were on their way home from training, along with Wise County deputies and the Wise County Fire Marshal’s Office, had noticed the pin-in and sprang into action to help those involved in the crash. These first responders extricated at least one person pinned between the truck and barrier.

According to Wise County EMS Captain Danny Byler, the emergency crews did not travel in traditional emergency vehicles and did not have much equipment available. They appeared to use a door-breaching tool and a saw to “pin open the door,” Byler said.

Local police have not specified the contributing factors behind the pin-in collision and have not announced any arrests.

Updates will be added once we learn more.
