3 killed in wrong-way collision in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX – Three people died as a result of a wrong-way collision in Fort Worth on State Highway 121 on Tuesday, NBCDFW reports.

The incident occurred before 1:30 a.m. Preliminary details show a person operating a Jeep was traveling eastbound on westbound State Highway 121 when they crashed into a second vehicle, carrying three occupants.

Police said those three occupants tried to move out of the way, but their vehicle was still rear-ended by the Jeep. The Jeep continued driving and crashed head-on into a four-door sedan carrying four people — three adults and one child.

The impact of the collision led the Jeep driver and two female passengers, one sitting in the front and the other in the back of the sedan, to succumb to their injuries at the scene. EMS crews rushed the sedan driver, a man, and another passenger, a 10-year-old or an 11-year-old passenger, to a hospital for treatment.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victims’ names once their next of kin are notified.

Anyone with more information about the collision is asked to contact Fort Worth police at the phone number listed in the initial source.

Updates will be added as soon as we learn more.
