One life claimed after collision involving derailed train in Collinsville
COLLINSVILLE, TX – One woman lost her life after a collision involving a derailed train in Collinsville that happened on Sunday.
This is an update in connection with our previous reporting. KTEN confirmed that a woman, driving south, crashed her car into a derailed train. This incident happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 377 and County Line Church Road.
Medical helicopter personnel rushed the woman to a hospital, where she later died. Her name has not been released.
Approximately 23 freight cars were blocking the road after the train derailed. Clean-up and removal efforts extended into Tuesday, KTEN said.
