1 hospitalized following wrong-way collision in Aubrey

AUBREY, TX – One person was hospitalized following a wrong-way collision in Aubrey on Thursday, according to WFAA

One driver was traveling north on FM 185, south of FM 428, when they crossed into the southbound lane, crashed into a gun rail, and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.

The driver of the southbound vehicle also went over a guardrail and submerged before overturning into a pond.

Local police extricated the driver from their submerged vehicle and performed life-saving measures on them prior to EMS taking them to a hospital.

The impact of the collision caused gas and oil from the submerged vehicle to go into the pond, warranting a response from hazmat crews.

Police have not said whether they cited or arrested the wrong-way driver and are actively working to determine the contributing factors behind the wrong-way collision.

We will provide updates as soon as we learn more.
