Semi-truck strikes, kills pedestrian on I-35NB in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, TX – A 38-year-old male pedestrian died Wednesday morning after an 18-wheeler struck him along the interstate in northern Cooke County, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened at 4:16 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35, north of the Gainesville Travel Information Center and not far from the Texas border with Oklahoma.
The investigation thus far indicates that the pedestrian attempted to cross the interstate when the truck struck him in the northbound lanes.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the collision.
The truck driver was not injured in the accident and stopped to speak with authorities and render aid.
A full investigation is underway.
