Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run at S Watson and Webb Lynn
ARLINGTON, TX – A 43-year-old woman died Friday when a vehicle struck her on her motorcycle at a busy Arlington intersection, reports NBC DFW 5.
The accident happened around 11:17 p.m. at South Watson Road and Webb Lynn Road on the southeast side of the city. This is just southeast of Tarrant County College.
Police say that a 22-year-old drunk driver failed to heed a red light and hit the motorcyclist while heading eastbound in a Dodge Charger on Webb Lynn Road. The driver of the Dodge fled the scene.
Authorities transported the victim, identified as Julie Maldonado, to the hospital, where she soon died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Arlington Police located and arrested the driver of the Dodge, identified as Kenneth Polk. Polk faces multiple charges, including manslaughter and intoxication.
The investigation is ongoing.
