Motorcyclist killed in crash on N Moss Ave in West Odessa

ODESSA, TX – One person died, and another sustained injuries last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision in West Odessa, reports News West 9.

Emergency teams responded to North Moss Avenue at 3 p.m. This street runs north to south between TX-302 and I-20. Officials have not disclosed a cross street for the accident.

Police say that a southbound 2007 Harley Davidson Motorcycle crashed into a 2008 Land Rover LR2 when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and turned north from a private drive onto North Moss Avenue.

The impact of the crash threw the motorcyclist from his bike, and he died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as 39-year-old Robert Montes.

Medics transported the driver of the Land Rover to an area hospital with minor injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
