Motorcyclist killed in 2-vehicle crash on Buffalo Gap Rd in Abilene

ABILENE, TX – A 37-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in southwest Abilene, reports Big Country Homepage.

The accident happened just after 2 p.m. on the southbound side of Buffalo Gap Road between Robertson Drive and Arrowhead Drive. This is just southeast of the Mall of Abilene.

Police say that a southbound motorcycle collided with a northbound SUV when the latter vehicle attempted a left turn into a private drive on Buffalo Gap.

Medics transported the motorcyclist, identified as Joshua Harness of Abilene, to an area hospital. Harness died a day later in the hospital from injuries sustained in the wreck. It’s unclear if Harness was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
