Wilco firefighter Kurt Lentz killed in off-duty crash on TX-29
GEORGETOWN, TX – Georgetown police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that fatally injured an off-duty firefighter on Friday, reports KVUE abc.
Emergency teams were called to TX-29 at Wolf Ranch Parkway shortly after 9 a.m. This is just west of I-35 and northwest of Inner Space Cavern.
There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the wreck or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted each other. Police say the crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
Georgetown firefighter Kurt Lentz was driving his motorcycle home from work when the collision occurred.
Lentz died after transport to an area hospital. He was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the accident.
The second driver did not require hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
