Car, semi collide head on in Bowie Co., killing Kaden Allen
BOWIE CO., TX – A 19-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a wrong-way crash involving an 18-wheeler in north-central Bowie County on the Fourth of July, reports Texarkana Gazette.
The two-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. just north of New Boston on TX-8. This is approximately 30 miles northwest of Texarkana.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a southbound Dodge Charger entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a log truck.
The driver of the Charger, identified as Kaden Allen of Texarkana, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Allen’s 19-year-old passenger did not require hospitalization, nor did the 29-year-old truck driver involved in the collision.
Allen’s condition at the time of the crash has not yet been established.
Motorists likely experienced significant delays along TX-8 in the area of the accident while emergency teams responded.
The investigation is ongoing.
