Seth Cruz IDed as victim in DUI crash on Harry Wurzbach

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 24-year-old man died Monday in a fiery solo crash caused by a drunk driver on the northeast side of San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.

Just after 1:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident on Harry Wurzbach Road between Belmeade Park and Towers Park Lane in Bel Meade.

Police say that a speeding driver was intoxicated when he fled an attempted stop, lost control of his vehicle, and crashed into a pillar. The vehicle ignited upon impact, and a male passenger died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Seth Palacios Cruz.

Medics transported the driver of the vehicle to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Upon release from the hospital, the driver may face a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
