Three-car collision along MLK in El Paso claims Oscar Lopez, 52

EL PASO, TX – A 52-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Monday in a multi-vehicle, wrong-way collision along a major roadway in northeast El Paso, reports abc 7 KVIA.

Around 5:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Stan Roberts Sr. Avenue and Loma Real Avenue. This is just south of the Texas and New Mexico state lines.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound pickup truck lost control of the vehicle, entered the northbound side of MLK, and hit two other vehicles.

A man in one of the northbound vehicles died after transport to an area hospital.

It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the collision, and no charges has been referenced thus far.

A full investigation is underway.
