Pickup and dump truck collide near Odem, killing Joshua Resendez

SAN PATRICIO CO., TX – A 41-year-old man died this week in a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck in south-central San Patricio County, reports KIITV 3 News.

The accident occurred Wednesday on US-77 near Angelita Drive, which is just south of Odem and about 22 miles northwest of Corpus Christi.

Police say that Joshua Resendez was likely speeding when his Dodge pickup truck rear-ended a dump truck on the highway.

Resendez succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision. There were no other passengers in this car when the accident happened.

The driver of the dump truck, identified as 66-year-old Eliasar Sandoval, went to a Corpus hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Sandoval has since returned home.

A full investigation is underway.
