PRESIDIO CO., TX – Two Pecos men died earlier this month in a wrong-way collision along the highway in south-central Presidio County, reports KTSM 9.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on US-67, approximately 12 miles north of Presidio. This is just northwest of Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Police say that a southbound Chevy pickup truck entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head on with a northbound Sierra GMC pickup truck.
Both the driver and the passenger from the wrong-way vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the victims as 59-year-old Refjujio Castillo and 82-year-old Juan Jose Rodriguez.
Two passengers from the Chevy sustained unspecified injuries, and a woman from the Sierra went to the hospital with critical injuries.
