Tristian Bueno, 1 other claimed in wrong-way crash near Olton

HALE CO., TX – A man and a woman died Friday in a three-vehicle collision along the highway in northwest Hale County, reports everythingLubbock.

The accident occurred in the evening on US-79 near County Road C, which is just east of Olton and about 23 miles west of Plainview.

Police say that a BMW entered the wrong side of the highway while making an illegal pass and crashed head-on into another vehicle. The impact of this initial collision caused both vehicles to ignite. A third vehicle then struck the BMW.

Both the wrong-way driver and the driver of the second vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities identified the victims as 29-year old Tristian Bueno and 57-year old Julie Bryant.

The driver of the third vehicle did not sustain injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
