Pickup rear-ends semi in Mitchell Co., killing James Creighton
MITCHELL CO., TX – A two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck claimed the life of a Louisiana man last Wednesday night in northeast Mitchell County, reports San Angelo Live.
Shortly after 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major crash on the westbound side of I-20 near mile marker 221 between Colorado City and Loraine. This is about 67 miles west of Abilene.
Police say that the driver of a 2024 Chevrolet 1500 pickup failed to decelerate for slowed traffic and rear-ended an 18-wheeler on the interstate. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to overturn, killing the driver at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as James B. Creighton of Many, Louisiana.
Neither the driver nor the passenger in the semi-truck sustained injuries.
