SUV rear-ends semi on Wetmore Rd in San Antonio, killing 1

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 58-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in northeast San Antonio.

According to News4SA, the accident occurred around 6 a.m. on Wetmore Road near I-410, at the southeast corner of San Antonio International Airport.

A preliminary investigation indicates that an SUV rear-ended an 18-wheeler, killing one person and injuring four others.

Authorities have not yet shared the name of the victim. They say that three people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A fifth person was also hurt, though it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.

Officials closed Wetmore Road in the area of Loop 410 while emergency crews worked at the scene.
