David Rodriguez fatally struck near I-35 SB and E Applegate

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened in the North Lamar area on Tuesday morning, reports My Texas Daily.

Shortly before 4 a.m., emergency teams responded to the southbound side of I-35 between East Braker Lane and East Rundberg Lane.

It’s not yet clear if the victim was walking on or in the roadway when he was struck.

The pedestrian, identified as 45-year-old David Rodriguez, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver involved in the collision stopped to render aid and to speak with police. At this time, authorities do not suspect impairment.

The investigation is ongoing.
