Liborio Garcia, 67, fatally struck at Midland Dr and Dengar Ave

MIDLAND, TX – An elderly man died Tuesday when a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in northwest Midland, reports First Alert 7.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at Midland Drive and Dengar Avenue in Wedgewood Park, just northwest of Dollar General.

The investigation indicates that a northbound Ford Escape hit 67-year-old Liborio Garcia as the man was crossing Midland Drive.

Garcia died at the scene.

The driver and passenger from the Ford fled the scene on foot. Authorities soon after located and arrested the driver, identified as Jordan McLaughlin, on a charge of collision involving death.

The investigation is ongoing.
