Tanya Cypert claimed in possible street-racing crash in Arlington
ARLINGTON, TX – A woman and her dog died last Friday afternoon in a collision that Arlington police say may have been caused by street racing.
According to Fox 4 News, the accident happened in the afternoon at the intersection of Cooper Street and Eden Road, which is just east of Rush Creek Linear Park South.
The victim, police say, was turning left from Cooper Street onto Eden Road when a 2025 black Mercedes sedan struck her white Hyundai Tucson in the intersection.
Investigators say that the driver of the Mercedes may have been engaged in a street race with a second Mercedes sedan on Cooper Street.
The driver of of the Hyundai, identified as 53-year-old Tanya Cypert, died after transport to an area hospital. Her dog also died in the crash.
Medics transported the driver of the 2025 Mercedes to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been announced so far, but the investigation is ongoing.
