Pickup rear-ends SUV in NE San Angelo, killing Lee Ann Cauley

SAN ANGELO, TX – A woman died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in central Tom Green County, reports Fox West Texas.

Around 7:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident at the intersection of US-277 and Old Ballinger Highway on the northeast side of San Angelo.

The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound Silverado pickup truck rear-ended a southbound GMC Acadia SUV at the railroad crossing. The SUV was stopped behind a school bus when the crash occurred, police say.

The driver of the GMC, identified as Lee Ann Cauley, sustained fatal injuries.

Medics transported the driver of the pickup truck to an area hospital with minor injuries.

It’s unclear if charges will filed in connection to the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
