Crash at Kennedale Speedway Park claims Billy Hurt, track official
KENNEDALE, TX – A track official died over the weekend in an ATV collision at Kennedale Speedway Park in southeast Tarrant County, reports Fox 4 News.
The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday during a World of Outlaws event at the park on Hudson Village Creek Road in southeast Kennedale.
The investigation indicates that two ATVs occupied by safety officials for the event collided when they were responding to an accident on the track.
One of the officials, later identified as Billy Hurt, died at the scene. The other official, identified as Jerry Myers, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities haven’t shared any further details regarding the cause of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
