1 life claimed, another injured in pursuit-turned-crash near Fort Worth 

NEAR FORT WORTH, TX – One person was killed, and three were injured in a pursuit-turned-crash near Fort Worth last week, according to Fort Worth Police. 

The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 5. Police first spotted a man driving without his headlights on Interstate 35West in Fort Worth. That driver crashed into another vehicle and fled the scene. 

Police attempted to pull over the driver without the headlights, but the driver did not listen, which prompted a pursuit. 

Police lost sight of the fleeing vehicle, but located it again on the 1500th block of Tarver Road in Briaroaks, where the driver crashed his vehicle. 

The fleeing driver succumbed to his injuries, while his male passenger sustained minor injuries. 

EMS crews transported the surviving passenger to a hospital for treatment. 

Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the decedent’s name.
