One life claimed, 4 injured in crash involving Dallas Fire & Rescue vehicle
DALLAS, TX – One person’s life was claimed, and four others were injured in a crash between a minivan and a Dallas Fire & Rescue vehicle on Thursday, according to WFAA.
The incident unfolded after 3:15 p.m. when the driver of the DFR vehicle crashed into a minivan at the intersection of Rugged Drive and Savoy Street, along Kiest Park.
EMS crews transported the minivan driver and four others to a hospital. There, the minivan driver later died from their injuries.
The four others survived and were identified as a pediatric patient, two DFR medics, and one intern.
The pediatric patient is recovering from minor injuries, while the other people’s physical conditions remain undisclosed.
The decedent’s identity has not been released.
Dallas Police shut down the area for over three hours for the scene clean-up process and overall investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
