Maria Rodriguez, Lucas Reyna ID’d as victims in fatal Duncanville street racing crash 

DUNCANVILLE, TX – According to NBCDFW, it was 50-year-old Maria Rodriguez and 12-year-old Lucas Reyna who were among the victims killed in a fatal street racing crash on Monday. 

This is an update in connection with the story we first reported on Monday. Family members of these victims confirmed this news to the source. A 78-year-old woman died, and Lucas’ cousin, also a 12-year-old boy, was hospitalized for various injuries. 

The source also confirmed the identities of the two men who were arrested in connection with this deadly collision. They are Kishawn Copeland and Ronnie Lee Coleman, who are in their early 20s, and will be facing several charges. 

The Back Story

The collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Wheatland Road and South Cedar Ridge Drive. It involved a white Chrysler 300 and a gray Toyota Corolla. 

Two vehicles were involved in an illegal street race when one of them crashed into the Corolla on westbound West Wheatland Road.

Rodriguez, Lucas, the 78-year-old woman, whose name was not released, and Lucas’ cousin were inside the Corolla. 

The driver of the white Chrysler, the sole occupant inside, was not seriously hurt. 

Police did not specify what vehicle(s) Copeland and Coleman were racing in.
