Teen charged with DUI following an injury crash involving Fort Worth PD officer
FORT WORTH, TX – A teenage driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence after causing an injury crash involving a Fort Worth police officer on Saturday.
The incident unfolded before 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Riverside Drive and Martin Luther King Freeway, according to Fox4News. Preliminary details reveal that the teenager, who operated a red Chevrolet Silverado, had failed to yield the right of way to a marked Fort Worth police cruiser while traveling on southbound Riverside Drive. As a result, she crashed her pickup truck into the front driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.
The teenage driver and Fort Worth Police officer sustained unspecified injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
