Truck driver charged with DWI after Mesquite crash that killed Jose Aguilar Renteria
MESQUITE, TX – A semi-truck driver was charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash in Mesquite that killed a 36-year-old man from Dallas.
Mesquite police told Fox4News that the crash happened before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, on the 2100th block of Interstate Highway 635 near North Gross Road. Police said the 36-year-old man, identified as Jose Aguilar Renteria, crashed his white Alfa Romeo sedan into a slow-moving 18-wheeler.
Unfortunately, Renteria succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police arrested the truck driver, who is being charged with DWI. He has been identified as Ulises Mendez Hernandez, from Mexico.
A full investigation is underway.
On a similar note, a truck driver was charged for his connection to a deadly crash that also happened on IH 635 last week.
