Texas Worker Daniel Navarrete Killed in Oil Rig Accident in near New Town North Dakota

New Town, N.D. (January 12, 2023)- 42-year-old Daniel Navarrete, of New Braunfels, Texas, was killed in an oil rig accident on January 5, 2023, near New Town, North Dakota.  The accident occurred Thursday on a Nabors Industries oil rig north of New Town.  Investigators reported that Navarrete fell through an open hatch and into a pit on the oil rig.  Workers attempted to rescue Navarrete, but were unsuccessful.  Navarrete was pronounced dead at the scene.  No further details have been provided at this time.  The incident remains under investigation.
