Pickup truck versus train crash kills 1 in Splendora
SPLENDORA, TX – The driver of a red pickup truck died Monday morning after his vehicle collided with a train in east Montgomery County, reports Click 2 Houston.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and Midline Road, which is between Fostoria Road and Kingport Drive.
Police have not yet commented on what may have caused the pickup truck to enter the path of the train. They say the incident caused 21 or more rail cards to derail. Additionally, the force of the collision split the red pickup truck in two.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
