2 officers hurt in rear-end crash on Hwy 315 near FM 1971
LONG BRANCH, TX – Medics transported two Panola County deputies to the hospital Saturday after a vehicle rear-ended their Tahoe on the highway, reports KLTV 7.
The incident happened around 2:13 p.m. on Highway 315 near FM 1971, which is just west of Clayton.
The investigation indicates that the officers had just responded to a call regarding loose livestock in the roadway when they were struck from behind by a pickup truck.
Both officers were hospitalized with injuries, and one was airlifted to UT Tyler.
The occupants of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Police cited the driver of the pickup truck for speeding.
