Police arrest man responsible for fatal Rhome hit-and-run
RHOME, TX – Police in Rhome arrested a man they say is responsible for a hit-and run incident earlier this month that killed a motorcyclist, reports 5 NBC DFW.
Forty-year-old James Paul Proulx was arrested earlier this week on felony charges that include manslaughter and an accident involving personal death.
The fatal crash happened on March 10th around 7:15 a.m. on US-287 between TX-114 and Pioneer Road.
Police say Proulx was driving a pickup truck hauling a trailer and that he and a motorcyclist, identified as Jerry W. Newton, argued for several miles along the highway before Proulx used his truck to force Newton from the roadway.
Newton died from injuries sustained in the crash.
