2-car crash with entrapment kills 1 on Hwy 171 in Grandview
GRANDVIEW, TX – A 61-year-old woman died, and one other person went to the hospital Monday in a head-on collision in southeast Johnson County, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 171 near County Road 305, which is just southeast of Faulkenbury Cemetery.
The investigation thus far indicates that for unknown reasons, a southbound vehicle travelled into the northbound lane and collided head on with another vehicle. One of the people involved in the crash became entrapped until crews worked to extricate her.
The woman in the first vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash,
The driver of the second vehicle went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
