Wrong-way crash along R.L. Thornton Fwy near UNT Dallas kills 2, injures 1

DALLAS, TX – Two drivers died, and one passenger was hurt after a wrong-way crash along the interstate in the Wolf Creek area of Dallas on Tuesday.

According to Fox 4 KDFW, the incident happened around 1:35 a.m. on the R.L. Thornton Freeway near Camp Wisdom Road, which is between I-20 and TX-12.

The investigation indicates that a southbound pickup truck entered the northbound lanes of the freeway and collided head-on with a northbound car. The collision caused the car to strike a northbound flatbed truck.

The accident killed both the wrong-way driver and the driver of the car. Authorities have not yet released their identities to the public.

Medics transported a passenger from the car to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

The driver of the flatbed was not hurt in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
