Driver killed in 2-vehicle crash involving semi on US-287 in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – One man died in a crash involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler along the highway in northwest Ellis County on Thursday morning, reports DFW Scanner.

Emergency teams reported to the accident around 5:45 a.m. at the intersection of US-287 southbound and Lakeview Drive, which is in the Grand Prairie area.

Police say that a semi-truck struck an SUV when the latter vehicle neglected to yield the right of way at the intersection. The truck driver was headed southbound on US-287 at the time of the collision.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene. Police have not yet released his identity to the public.

No other injuries have been reported in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
