Firefighters hurt in rollover accident at Village Creek and Wilbarger

FORT WORTH, TX – A rollover accident involving a fire truck injured four Fort Worth firefighters early Tuesday morning in the South Edgewood area, reports WFAA 8.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. at Village Creek Road and Wilbarger Street, which is east of Village Creek Park and just north of the US-287 and I-820 split.

The investigation so far indicates that the driver of the firetruck lost control and overturned while en route to a fire incident on Pecos Street in Echo Heights.

The crash ejected and critically injured one of the firefighters. Medics transported all four to the hospital with varying degrees of injury. Two have been released, and one is stable.

The accident closed the intersection of Village Creek and Wilbarger on Tuesday morning while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
