Fiery crash involving 2 semis on Loop 12 SB in Irving injures 2
IRVING, TX – A fiery multi-vehicle collision involving two 18-wheelers in west-central Dallas County hurt at least two people early Tuesday morning.
According to WFAA News 8, the incident happened around 2 a.m. on the southbound side of Loop 12 near East Shady Grove Road in Irving. This is just west of the Irving Golf Club.
Police haven’t shared many details about the accident. They say it involved three vehicles and that two people sustained injuries. The severity of those injuries is unknown at this time.
Video footage taken at the scene indicates that at least one of the semi-trucks caught fire as a result of the collision.
Officials closed the southbound side of Loop 12 while crews worked to put out the fire, investigate, and clear the scene. Roads remained closed a few hours after the accident, causing significant delays.
The investigation is ongoing.
