Hazmat crews respond to box truck on fire at Matlock and Green Oaks

ARLINGTON, TX – Officials encouraged drivers to avoid a busy Arlington intersection late Friday morning after an incident involving vehicle on fire,  reports DFW Scanner.

Crews arrived at the intersection of Matlock Road and Green Oaks Boulevard sometime before 10:46 a.m. after reports of a box truck on fire. Hazmat crews were called to the scene, as the truck was carrying hazardous materials.

It’s not yet clear if the truck was involved in an accident, or if something else caused the vehicle to ignite. Additionally, there’s no word yet regarding injuries.

At least one business in the area of the fire required evacuation, and motorists likely experienced significant delays while fire and hazmat crews worked to contain the blaze.

A full investigation is underway.
