Vehicle strikes, fatally hurts child on scooter in NE Dallas

Dallas, TX – Police are investigating a crash that fatally injured a nine-year-old boy last Tuesday at a northeast Dallas intersection, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Materhorn Drive and San Paula Avenue, which is in the Casa View area.

Police say the boy was riding his electric scooter in the intersection when a truck struck him.

Medics transported the boy to a local hospital, where he died a few days later on Friday from injuries sustained in the accident.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that hit the child claims to have not seen him in the intersection.

It’s not yet clear if the driver will face charges in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
