2 sent to hospital after 18-wheeler overturns on I-20 in Kaufman County
KAUFMAN COUNTY, TX — Two people were injured Friday morning as a result of a rollover semi-truck crash on Interstate 20 near southwest Wills Point, reports WFAA.
The incident was reported on the westbound lanes near Farm to Market Road 2965 (FM2965). Footage captured by the Texas Department of Transportation shows a big rig was involved, and that it had rolled onto its side, leaving all travel lanes blocked.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the single-vehicle rollover resulted in minor injuries to the driver and their passenger. Both occupants were transported to Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
The 18-wheeler appeared to remain blocking the roadway until at least 9:00 a.m., but by then, all traffic behind it had thinned out.
All westbound traffic was diverted onto FM 2965 as crews worked to lear the truck from the area.
At 9:30 a.m., officials announced that the closure was expected to stay in place for an additional two hours.
