Multi-vehicle crash on FM 315 bridge near Chandler blocks traffic

CHANDLER, TX – Five people were hospitalized Thursday from injuries sustained in a major accident along a Lake Palestine Bridge, reports CBS 19.

The collision occurred around 8:20 a.m. along the FM 315 bridge near Chandler. This is about twelve miles west of Tyler.

Police say the accident involved six vehicles and caused the bridge to close while crews aided the victims and worked to clear the wreckage.

One person required air transport to the hospital, while the other four travelled by ground ambulance. Authorities haven’t yet disclosed the nature of the victims’ injuries.

Officials are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
