1 killed, 1 injured in crash at TX-121 and I-35W in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, TX – One person died, and another went to the hospital Tuesday after a solo accident along the interstate east of Rock Island in Fort Worth.
According to WFAA News 8, the incident happened around 12:46 a.m. on the I-35W overpass to TX-121 eastbound. This is just south of Greenway Park.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control of their vehicle and struck a concrete barrier. The force of the collision caused the vehicle to fall from the overpass onto the ramp for TX-121.
The accident killed a passenger in the vehicle at the scene, while the driver required hospitalization but is expected to survive. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.
Officials closed the northbound lanes of I-35W along with eastbound lanes of TX-121 in the area of the collision for just over four hours while police gathered evidence and crews worked to clear the scene.
