Truck crash on I-20 EB near MM 583 blocks traffic near Kilgore

KILGORE, TX – A fiery accident involving a semi-truck blocked traffic along the interstate in south-central Gregg County on Thursday morning, reports KETK.

The incident happened sometime before 8:19 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-20 near mile marker 583, which is just east of Sabine Elementary School.

Police say that a crash caused an 18-wheeler to catch fire. It’s unclear what caused the accident, if there were other vehicles involved, or if anyone was hurt.

The accident blocked the outside lane of I-20 eastbound while crews worked to put out the fire and clear the scene.
