Vehicle strikes, kills woman along Hwy 31on far-east side of Tyler

TYLER, TX – A 62-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon after a vehicle struck her along the highway in far-east Tyler, reports CBS 19 and KLTV 7.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of Highway 31 near County Road 24. This is near Dollar General and TULITA Grocery.

Police say the victim, identified as Vanessa Hill, was walking across Highway 31 when a pickup truck hit and fatally injured her. Authorities declared Hill deceased at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the accident to render aid and speak with officials. They were not hurt in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
